We can hardly wait to find out more about you in our interview. So, what are we waiting for? Let’s go:

Let’s start with a quick Q&A session:

Which country is at the top of your travel bucket list?
Japan! Once again… I was lucky enough to be able to travel to Japan this year and am absolutely thrilled by the country and its people. I would love to visit Okinawa, for example, on my next trip to Japan.

Imagine you could learn a language fluently in just one day – which one would you choose?
Mandarin. I would say that I’m not entirely unskilled at languages – but that’s not the case with Mandarin. I took Mandarin as an elective subject for a year – without any great success. Unfortunately, I didn’t get much more than ‘ni hao’ out of it.

Is there a book that you were so impressed by that you would recommend it to anyone?
Perfume by Patrick Süßkind. My German teacher recommended this book to me many, many years ago. I was so enthusiastic at the time that I even gave a presentation on the book.

The book tells the life of Jean-Baptiste Grenouille, a young man with an extraordinary sense of smell who is obsessed with creating the perfect scent. The fascinating thing about the book is the storytelling, because as a reader you experience Grenouille’s world from the perspective of odours.

If you could have a magical animal as a pet, what would it be and what special abilities would it have?
A miniature dachshund (I love dogs – especially dachshunds) who is good with a mop and feather duster… and who is also best at cooking and emptying the nappy bin.

Which fictional character from a book or film would you most identify with?
According to my boyfriend: Schlaubi Schlumpf :), known as Brainy Smurf in English, and I think I have to agree with him. Sometimes I want to give wise advice, even if nobody has asked for it.

Now it’s getting serious:

What exactly is your job at ondeso and what does a typical working day look like for you?

In short: I take care of all personnel-related tasks at ondeso. For example, I oversee the recruitment process and conduct job interviews, provide support during employee appraisals and am the point of contact for all HR-related topics and labour law issues. I currently spend a lot of my time on operational HR administration and take care of time recording, contracts and the preparation of payroll accounting, among other things. However, I also liaise with the management on the development and implementation of strategic HR topics, prepare HR-related evaluations and try to introduce and optimise HR processes.

It’s difficult to say what a typical working day looks like for me, because my work is as varied as the people at ondeso. At the moment, for example, I’ve been planning this year’s Christmas party, drawing up contract documents for a new colleague and making the initial preparations for the annual accounts.

How would your colleagues describe you?

Feedback plays a central role in human resources. It is also important to me to receive regular feedback on myself and my work in order to continuously develop. Colleagues have emphasised to me that they perceive me as reliable and fair, that I always have an open ear for them and make sure that everything runs smoothly. They might also describe me as stubborn from time to time (I love finalising issues) – although no one has dared to tell me this directly yet. 😉

What did you want to become as a child and what brought you to ondeso?

My ‘little girl’s dream’ was always to become a flight attendant. During my training as a foreign language correspondent, I dreamed of travelling to as many countries as possible and getting to know foreign cultures.

How did I end up at ondeso? In the past, I was lucky enough to take on various management positions. I really enjoy working with people and every day brings new challenges. After gaining valuable experience in the area of employee management, I was drawn to familiarise myself with other activities in the HR sector. Through a good friend, I learnt that a position had become vacant at ondeso because my predecessor was going into well-deserved retirement. The interview with her was anything but ordinary: after more than two hours in a relaxed atmosphere, many cups of coffee and a lively exchange on a wide range of topics, I realised that ondeso would give me the opportunity to develop in new areas of HR management and discover new professional horizons.
